Synopsis
l researcher Hercules Poirot is already old and his greatest fun is to appreciate the good food. Knowing that he now has more time available, the superintendent Spence, not satisfied with the verdict issued in connection with the murder of Mrs. McGinty, asks Poirot to help him find new evidence that can declare the convicted person in the process of appeal innocent.
Poirot is staying in a small city pension where the events took place and begins to investigate the death of this lady, who worked as a domestic employee in the houses of several people in the city. In this period Ariadne Oliver, a writer of police novels (ironic self-portrait of Agatha Christie) is a guest of one of Mrs. McGinty's former patrons.
