Synopsis
In the angry and vitriolic tone of the misanthrops and without any prior order, the narrator of the subsoil, a revolting average official of the city of St. Petersburg, reports, at his forty years, certain aspects of his life in a convulsive lack of memories. His speech is dedicated to the entire humanity and ranges between the philosophical essay and the representation in sequences of his pusilanime and sick personality.
