Synopsis
Catherine Morland is a girl "as common as she is most," only she tends to see life as a novel. When presented in society in Bath, he meets a handsome and refined young man and feels like a sentimental novel. Then, invited by the young man's father, he spends a season in an old abbey, where he suspects that they will take on terrible secrets, like in a Gothic novel.
