The fall of the Patriarch
Original title: El otoño del patriarca
Synopsis
The theme of the patriarch's otono, which by its structure and language has no precedent in Latin American literature and not even in the author's work, are the illusions and irmediable loneliness of power embodied in an anonymous and mythical figure that is that of many Latin American patriarchs but also, in some way, the exemplary protagonist of the human calamities and tribulations that here manifest themselves as representations of an omnipotent and lonely delusion, of destruction and nightmares.
