The Quiet American
Original title: The Quiet American
Synopsis
In the stormy political environment of the Indochina of the 1950s - an Indochina that claims its independence against the French army - three characters form a fragile love triangle: Thomas Fowler, a war correspondent who has led a life full of sentimental failures and who reviews his experiences with distance and scepticism; Alden Pyle, the impassible American, an extremely naive American secret agent, and Fuong, a young woman of whom the two men are in love, and who has not just recognized her feelings.
