Little Dorrit
Original title: Little Dorrit
Synopsis
After more than twenty years in China ("I have so few roots that the current takes me down"), Arthur Clennam returns to London convinced that he has wasted his youth and that the moment of love has already passed for him. His mother, an invalid and sinister old woman, greets him in the room of which he has not gone out for twelve years, and in which, at the bottom, in the gloom, he sews a misplaced girl.
