By Murder's Bright Light
Original title: By Murder's Bright Light
Synopsis
Winter of 1379. Sir John Cranston is overwhelmed by all kinds of problems: not only does he have to pronounce a sentence on an alleged case of witchcraft, but he is also totally disconcerted by the crimes of a cunning criminal. Fray Athelstan, his scribe and friend, is preparing the representation of a religious mystery and at the same time trying to calm the spirits of his parish council, for they all want to interpret the role of God. Such concerns however lose their importance when all men who make up the night guard of the warship The clear light of God mysteriously disappears. Sir John and Fray Athelstan are responsible for the investigation of the events on board.
